The Mirror
We live inside the constructs of mind,
mistaking thought for truth,
seeing not the world as it is,
but as it has been filtered
through our learned experience.
So we remain—
trapped in the story of self,
seemingly separate,
unable to love another as they are,
for we see them only as we are.
Yet some awaken from this dream.
They watch thought instead of becoming it,
seeing that a thought is nothing
but a label laid upon the formless.
Then the world is revealed as a mirror,
reflecting back
the sum of all we have carried.
And something beautiful occurs:
you meet another
who too has slipped the mind’s cage.
Separation ends.
Conflict falls away.
You see them—only as they are,
not as you imagined them to be.
In that pure seeing
there is only what is.
And when two mirrors meet
without flinching—
that is love.
